"Unbreakable Connection" is an art project funded by the Alytus City Municipality through a Young Artist Scholarship.

The aim of this project is to invite the viewer on a journey to connect with their own and collective roots through ancestral crafts like sewing and embroidery. We live in a multi-colored world where cultures have mingled and replaced each other throughout the ages. Traveling is an irreplaceable way to broaden our worldview, break personal boundaries, step out of our comfort zones, and enable multicultural coexistence.

The works exhibited speak to the relationship between space, form, color, and the observer. I invite the viewer to merge with the works, looking through them to observe the space and each other. In the series "Unbreakable Connection," I explore connections between the past and the future. The pieces on display are created using plant-dyed cotton, linen, photography from my travels, and the batik technique I learned in Indonesia. I aim to break traditional forms, seeking texture and sculptural aspects in fabrics. The circle is a recurring symbol in these works, representing cycles, the world, connection, and reversibility. Stitches of gold thread serve as a visible accent, connecting, uniting, and forming a continuous rhythm.

Everything is connected. One action leads to another and back again. It's different, but it returns.
